Plane spotters at Southend Airport were treated to sightings of a very rare Russian WW2 fighter aircraft when it landed at the airport on Friday.
The aircraft was a Russian built replica of a wartimes YAK-3 two-seater fighter, which was used by the Russian Air Force and French Air Forces, similar to the UK Spitfire during WW2.
The one that landed at Southend Airport has recently been bought by Andrew McArthur Holman-West.
Mr Holman-West runs a company based at Stratford-upon-Avon, called Russian Radials Ltd, and is based at Wellesbourne Mountford Airfield, Stratford Upon Avon.
There are only a few of the historic Russian YAK-3s are still left flying in the world today.
