The A12 in north Essex has re-opened after being closed in both directions last night due to a police-led incident.
The road closed in both directions between Junction 29 and Junction 27, near Colchester, last night at roughly 11.40pm.
According to National Highways, emergency services were working at the scene.
The road re-opened shortly after midnight after the police incident "concluded".
Essex Police has been contacted for further comment on details surrounding the incident that sparked the initial road closure.
