Two teenagers have been arrested as police discovered an estimated £20,000 worth of suspected class A drugs after a chase.

The two teenagers attempted to evade police on an e-bike but were detained by Basildon community policing team officers on Thursday.

One, a 19-year-old man from Wickford, was found in possession of 157 wraps of various amounts of cocaine estimated to have a street value in excess of £20,000 as well as a significant quantity of cannabis, Essex Police says.

He was also said to be in possession of a knife. Officers said the other, a 16-year-old male was found with a smaller amount of cannabis.

The 19-year-old has been charged for being concerned in the supply of class A, concerned in the supply of class B and possession of a bladed article and has been remanded in custody.

His e-bike has been seized.

The 16-year-old juvenile been bailed for further enquiries to be undertaken.
