COMMUTERS are facing "severe disruption" to c2c services this evening after a crash.

Following a road vehicle crashing into a bridge near Laindon earlier, services on the main lines via Basildon may be cancelled, altered or delayed at short notice.

The line has reopened since the incident but train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes

The c2c website warns of "severe disruption" which is expected until 8pm.

Greater Anglia is still accepting tickets via any reasonable route until further notice.

A c2c spokesman shared on X: "Following a road vehicle colliding with a bridge between West Horndon and Laindon earlier, the main lines via Basildon have now reopened.

"Services may still be cancelled, altered and delayed at short notice. Please check your journey here: https://orlo.uk/vD5wN"
