Here are the five adorable pups of the week at Basildon's Dogs Trust who are in need of loving forever homes.
Amber, an Akita
Amber is a one-year and nine-month-old Akita who came to the rehoming centre as a stray. She is looking for a home with no other pets and older teens of 13-plus who are used to large breeds. She is looking for a private secure garden to help her build some confidence and an active home who will take her out for lots of fun adventures.
Poppy, a French Bulldog Cross
Poppy is a nervous two-year-old French Bulldog and Pug cross who is seeking patient owners who can help bring her out of her shell. She can live with teenage children who are understanding of nervous dogs as she can be reactive and worried meeting new people. Poppy would benefit from a secure private garden to explore and help with housetraining.
Baker, a Bulldog
Three-year old Baker is a Bulldog Cross who can be quite fearful but affectionate and soppy once he has gained trust. The perfect forever home would be one with only teenage children and enjoys the outdoors as he loves exploring. Fetch, chase and tug games are his favourite pastimes which will be a great way for him to gain some confidence with his new family. He would ideally need to be the only pet at home.
Callie, a Saluki
Callie is a four-year-old Saluki who everyone at Dogs Trust adores. She can be shy at first, but once she is trusting she is a real sweetheart. Callie is looking for a home with secondary school age children. While she must be the only pet in the home, she can have walking buddies. She is looking for a home with a private secure garden to help her with housetraining, and someone around most of the time to begin with.
Dice, a Rottweiler
Dice is a bouncy four-year-old Rottweiler who loves to play. He is a looking for a home where he is the only pet as he loves cuddles and wants them all to himself. This handsome boy can only live with teenage children who are comfortable around larger dogs. He loves human interaction and will be a great addition to a family who can show him love and take him on lovely walks, as he loves to be out and about.
