A cordon is in place near a children's playground following reports of a serious incident in Basildon.
Photos show a cordon in place, with police on the scene in Hermitage Drive, Basildon, this morning.
Reportedly, this cordon has been in place since yesterday evening, where armed officers were also spotted on the scene.
At this stage, it is unclear what the incident is, but unconfirmed reports suggest that it is serious.
Essex Police have been contacted for a comment by the Echo.
