A ROAD closure between the A13 and A127 is among the six new public notices this week.

Pound Lane, which runs between the two major roads in Bowers Gifford, is set to close on August 12 for five days.

This is while repair works are carried out by Essex County Council. The closure will be in place up to Harrow Road.

Drivers will be diverted via Southend Arterial Road, slip road from A127 to A132 London-bound, Nevendon Road roundabout, East Mayne, East Mayne roundabout, Courtauld Road, Burnt Mills Road, Pound Lane.


Southend Road, in Wickford, will also be shut off for 15 nights while Essex County Council carries out resurfacing works.

The closures, between 7pm and 5am, will start on August 19 from its junction with Rectory Grove to its junction with Hawkins Close.

A temporary no waiting, no loading and no stopping order will also be in place in this length of road for the duration of the closures.


Part of Fairfax Drive is set to close for three days this month while Cadent carries out reinstatement works.

The road will be shut from its junctions with Highfield Crescent and Hainault Avenue to its junction opposite Inverness Avenue, and drivers will be unable to turn left into Fairfax Drive at its junctions with Highfield Crescent and Glenwood Avenue.

The closure will be in place from 9.30am on August 12 until 3.30pm on August 14, with an alternative route via Highfield Crescent, Highfield Gardens, Prittlewell Chase, Fairfax Drive.


Ethelred Gardens in Runwell is closing from its junction with Swan Lane to its junction with Locarno Avenue on August 19.

This closure will be in place for three days while carriageway patching and lining works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Locarno Avenue, Church End Avenue, Egbert Gardens, Swan Lane and vice versa.


Pipps Hill Road North, in Basildon, will be shut on Monday for one day from its junction with Wash Road.

This is while Essex County Council carries out pole bracket replacement works.

Traffic will be diverted via Wash Road and the A127.


Two roads in Hadleigh will be closing for five days from August 19 while Openreach undertakes cabling works.

Daws Heath Road is closing from its junction with Western Road to its junction with Bramble Road, while Fairmead Avenue will be shut from its junction with Daws Heath Road.

Alternative routes are available via Daws Heath Road and Western Road, and Fairmead Avenue, Moorcroft Avenue and Bramble Road.
