A MAN was found injured after calls to concerns for the welfare of a man near Belfairs Woods this morning.
Police have confirmed they were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man at 9.30am today in Eastwood Road North, Leigh, at Belfairs Recreation Ground.
Officers say they were at the scene within 10 minutes and a man was found injured. Three ambulance vehicles also attended and the man has been taken to hospital for treatment.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We understand this is an isolated incident, in no way connected to incidents of disorder on Tuesday.
"However, we understand people in Leigh and Southend may be concerned.
"We are investigating how this man came to be injured and our enquiries continue."
