A 14-YEAR-OLD girl has been arrested in connection with an assault on a person on a c2c train. 

The c2c train line linking south Essex with London was blocked on Saturday morning with trains being cancelled while emergency services dealt with an incident at Basildon. 

Following the incident at Basildon, c2c train services via Basildon were cancelled, delayed or diverted via Rainham, c2c said, with the Basildon, Laindon and West Horndon stops not being served. 

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "We were called to Pitsea station shortly before 4.30pm on Saturday following a report of an assault".

"Officers attended Pitsea station along with colleagues from Essex Police and also held a train at Westcliff.

"A 14 year old girl was arrested for assault occasioning ABH and common assault.

"She was also later arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.

"The victim attended hospital."
