A DRINK driver caught behind the wheel has been banned from the roads for almost two years.

Blessing Ndoro, of Tyndale Avenue, Basildon, was driving a Honda Civic on The Broadway in Winchester, Hampshire, when he was found with 80 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

The 23-year-old admitted the offence at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.

He has now been banned from driving for a year and nine months, and ordered to pay a £438 fine.

Ndoro must also pay £85 prosecution costs and a £175 surcharge to fund victim services, the court ordered.


A MOTORIST caught driving without due care and attention has been ordered to pay more than £1,100 in a fine and costs.

Christopher Rudkins, of Mons Avenue, Billericay, was behind the wheel of a Renault in Great Cumberland Place, Westminster in London when he was found driving without due care and attention on November 2.

The 36-year-old had denied the offence but changed his plea to guilty at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

He must now pay a fine of £600, prosecution costs of £325 and a £240 surcharge, the court ordered.

He was also handed six penalty points.


A DRIVER caught with a reflective number plate has been handed a large fine.

Waheed Syed, of North Crescent, Southend, was found with a number plate which had reflective characters which were not viewable when he was driving in Washington Road, Feltham, on January 12.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Bromley Magistrates’ Court. The 33-year-old must now pay a £220 fine, £88 surcharge to fund victim services and £110 prosecution costs, the court ordered.


A MAN who failed to identify a driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence must now pay over £1000.

Kev Atkinson, of Mountnessing Road, Billericay, failed to give information to Metropolitan Police in Bexley relating to the identification of the Volkswagen driver on December 29, 2022.

The offence was proved in his absence at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 22.

He was fined £660 and received six points on his driving record. Atkinson was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £264 and prosecution costs of £110.


A MAN who failed to show up for a drugs test has been hit with a fine.

Vjoia Doda, 33, failed to attend an initial assessment in Southend on January 1 to determine whether he was dependant upon or had a propensity to misuse a Class A drug.

This was after a test revealed cocaine may have been present in his body.

He admitted the offence at Swindon Magistrates’ Court last Friday.

Doda, of Fleming Way, Swindon, Wiltshire, has now been ordered to pay a £40 fine as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £16.


A DRIVER caught using his phone behind the wheel has been slapped with a fine.

Sanjaya Kankanamge, of Tudor Way, Wickford, was driving a Volkswagen in Charing Cross Road, Westminster, when he was found using his phone on November 17 last year.

The 54-year-old admitted the offence at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 22.

He must now pay a fine of £165, a surcharge to fund victim services of £66 and prosecution costs of £110, the court ordered.

His driving record was also endorsed with six penalty points.


A SPEEDING driver caught going above a 70 mile per hour limit has been hit with a fine.

Kevin Finan, of Hazel Close, Laindon, was driving a Mercedes in Deep Lane, Plymouth, when he was recorded at a speed exceeding the limit on August 24.

The 37-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure last Monday.

He was handed a £72 fine and three points on his driving record at Bodmin Law Courts.

Finan must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £28 and prosecution costs of £90, magistrates ordered.


A SPEEDING driver caught six miles per hour above the limit has been fined.

Anthony Jones, of Poley Road, Stanford-le-Hope, was driving between Podimore Roundabout and Hazelgrove Roundabout in Somerset when he was found going at 36 miles per hour. The limit is 30.

Jones, 58, admitted the offence via the single justice procedure and was fined £72 at Bath Magistrates’ Court.

He was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £28 and was handed three penalty points.


A SPEEDING driver caught on a motorway at 10mph above the limit has been fined more than £200.

Marius Lupascu, 45, of York Road, Southend, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes on the M1 in Northampton when he was recorded going at 70mph. The limit is 60.

Lupascu has been ordered to pay a £220 fine, a surcharge to fund victim services of £88 and prosecution costs of £90. His driving record was also endorsed with three points.


A VAN driver caught speeding at the Dartford Crossing has been fined almost £300.

Stuart Tedham, of Rayleigh Road, Thundersley, was driving a Ford Transit on the Dartford Tunnel approach road when he was caught going above the 50 miles per hour limit on December 4.

The 46-year-old admitted the offence and was handed a £288 fine at Medway Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.

Tedham was also hit with three penalty points, £90 in prosecution costs and a £115 surcharge to fund victim services.


A SPEEDING driver caught above a 70 mile per hour limit has been banned from the roads for half a year.

Matthew Downs, of Woodgrange Drive, Southend, was driving a Nissan X-Trail on the A14, in Fenstanton, when he was found to be above the limit on September 24 last year.

The 37-year-old admitted the offence at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was banned from driving for six months.

Downs must also pay a £300 fine and £120 surcharge to fund victim services, the court ordered.
