More than one hundred families were welcomed to Marsh Farm for a special event to "honour their bravery and strength" in the face of childhood cancer.
120 children, who currently have cancer or have previously battled it, were treated to a "Party for Heroes" at the adventure park, in partnership with Partyman’s Magic Makers.
Joined by their families, they enjoyed an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and "loads of foam".
Now in its third year, Party for Heroes is a joint effort between Magic Makers and the Laindon-based Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, which offers specialist support for children living with the disease.
Lindsey Bidwell, relations and partnership manager at Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, said: “Party for Heroes is all about bringing families together, giving them the opportunity to just be a family, and make friends with others who understand how hard life can be when your child is sick.
“The children loved the beach, the foam party and, of course, the dinosaur park.
“This event takes months of planning, lots of resources, and collaboration with this amazing charity. It really shows that when charities work together and support one another, they can accomplish something special.”
Costumed characters from Star Wars, Marvel, DC and Barbie greeted children at the farm.
They were also treated to magic shows, arts and crafts activities, and a foam party.
Lucy Staab, general manager at Marsh Farm, said: “Seeing the children's faces light up as they go around the farm, and knowing we were able to make that happen, is really heart-warming.
“It was even more fun soaking all the parents in foam during the foam party."
