A manhunt is underway after a victim was knocked unconscious during an assault in an alleyway in Pitsea.

Essex Police are investigating an assault in Pitsea where a man was knocked unconscious.

Officers say a man in his 30s was reported to have been assaulted in Braemar Walk, at around 5:40pm on Wednesday.

A cordon was put in place in the area following the assault, but no arrests have been made at this stage.

Ben Westwick, Labour councillor responsible for Pitsea South East, was concerned to hear about the incident.

He said: "I urge the public to come forward with any information regarding the assault that took place on Braemar Walk, where a man was knocked unconscious.

"We cannot let the attacker get away with this terrible act.

"My thoughts are with the victim and we wish him a speedy recovery."

Officers are urging any witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward to help with their investigation.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are investigating an assault in Pitsea where a man was knocked unconscious.

"A man in his 30s was reported to have been assaulted in Braemar Walk at around 5.40pm on Wednesday, August 7.
