From a handsome Anatolian Shepherd who has spent almost his whole life in kennels to a young crossbreed named Lady Ruby Waggington, here are the five pups of the week looking for their forever homes at Basildon's Dogs Trust.

Hank, an Anatolian Shepherd

This two-year-old giant goofball of fun loves cuddles on the sofa, games with his soft toys and learning new tricks. Handsome Hank has spent almost his whole life in kennels so would need adopters who can provide a calm environment for him to settle in.  The home would also need to be adult-only with teenage visitors only, as he barks at children. Hank also does have hip dysplasia and is currently having hydrotherapy, which his new family would need to arrange and continue.

Bob, a Border Collie

BobBob (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon) Six to twelve-month-old Bob is a nervous boy who needs a family who will be patient with helping him build up his confidence. Although Bob is friendly, he will also need a home which has minimal visitors due to him being worried around new people. He can only live with adults and older teenagers. However, he can live with another dog pending a successful meeting at the centre.

Lady Ruby Waggington, a Dutch Shepherd cross

Lady Ruby WaggingtonLady Ruby Waggington (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon) This adorable two-year-old crossbreed loves enrichment to keep her mind busy, high-value treats and toys. She is a intelligent girl and will need experienced owners who will embrace her eagerness to learn. Lady Ruby Waggington needs to be in an adult-only home with no other pets. She is fully muzzle trained and must be muzzled out on walks as has shown aggression to people approaching her, the rehoming centre says.

Snoopy, a Lurcher cross

SnoopySnoopy (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon) This two-year-old crossbreed is super smart and eager to learn new things. He can live with older teenagers with no visiting young children as he can be bouncy. While Snoopy is friendly with strangers, the charity says he must be muzzled on walks as he can be reactive towards unknown dogs.

Andy, a Labrador Retriever

AndyAndy (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon) One-year-old Andy is a love bug who is full of admiration for his human companions and will always be thrilled to greet them. Lots of high mental stimulation games are a fantastic tool to help this bouncy boy burn off some energy. He would need to be in a home with older teenage children, and a family who will be patient and dedicated to his training as he hasn’t had a great start to his life.
