Famous RAF aircraft have been snapped soaring over Southend this weekend as the city was treated to what is often dubbed a "mini airshow".
The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) Lancaster bomber as well as a Typhoon jet have been based at Southend Airport, between Thursday and Sunday, as they take centre stage at Eastbourne Airshow.
For the past two years the south Essex airport has played host to RAF aircraft taking part in the Eastbourne and Clacton events, in what has been fondly dubbed a "mini airshow" for Southend, including the BBMF Spitfires and Hurricanes and Red Arrows.
Unfortunately, the Red Arrows have not been based in Southend this year, while the Spitfires and Hurricanes remain grounded following the tragic fatal Spitfire crash earlier this year.
Echo camera club members have had their eyes to the skies as the RAF aircraft leave and return to Southend for the Eastbourne Airshow, with the event starting at 2.15pm and ending at 5pm yesterday.
Anyone who has missed the Lancaster bomber and Typhoon will have another chance to see them today as they take part in the final day of the show.
Viewers at the airport can also potentially expect to witness a spectacular sight as the Lancaster will conduct a flypast for the Vulcan Classic Jets Day today.
During the open day, attendees can take a guided tour of the Vulcan bomber and its cockpit for an additional fee, while viewing weapons carried by the aircraft during its time with the RAF.
