Police have confirmed they are "continuing enquiries" following the arrests of two people in connection with a spate of dine and dash incidents across south Essex.
A man and woman were arrested at an address in Great Wakering in May and subsequently released on conditional bail until late July.
Both were taken into custody and questioned on suspicion of three counts of making off without payment.
As part of their bail conditions, they are not permitted to attend any licenced premises in which food is served where that food cannot be purchased before consumption.
Essex Police says there have been no charges thus far and that there is "no update at this stage other than to say enquiries are continuing".
So far this year, the Pearl Dragon Restaurant in Eastern Esplanade and the Castle Inn pub in Little Wakering reported falling victim to people ordering multiple courses before attempting to flee without settling the bill.
Taxi drivers also came out in May to claim they were affected.
