Southend Pier is set to be at the centre of excitement this Bank Holiday weekend as it transforms into a vibrant hub of entertainment.

From today, through to Monday, visitors will be treated to a dazzling array of events, including performances by top DJs, live music, and special guest appearances.

With its unique atmosphere, an electrifying lineup, and against the backdrop of the replica Spanish ship, Galeon Andalucia; the weekend promises a memorable experience.

The renowned Old Time Sailors return to the pier to take you on a musical journey with their mix of sea shanties and folk tunes.

There will also be an eclectic mix of performances from The Silver Darlings, The Tempo Collective, Levent and Taylor's World Band, Rollo Markee and The Tailshakers, The Tuppenny Bunters, No Good Woman and The Kingsnakes.

DJs The Record Department, with DJ Daryl Easlea and Middle Age Spread, will be hitting the decks too.

Today, the Blackwater Pirates will also make a special appearance to help landlubbers really get into the spirit of the high seas. They will be posing for photos at the pierhead and raising money for Little Havens Children's Hospice.

Matt Dent, councillor responsible for culture, tourism and business, said: "Southend Pier is such an iconic landmark, and it is wonderful to see it come alive with such a diverse range of entertainment.

"It is fantastic to see so many local bands taking the stage, and we're thrilled to welcome back the Old Time Sailors, who have become a real favourite in Southend. I can't wait to see them."

Usual pier admission charges apply. There is an extra charge for boarding Galeon Andalucia.
