From drink drivers to motorists using their phone behind the wheel, these are ten residents or visitors in south Essex who have been sentenced at magistrates' courts this month.

A driver caught using his phone behind the wheel has been ordered to pay more than £800 in a fine and costs.
Gheorghe Mitrofan, of Little Spenders, Basildon, was driving a Mercedes on the M2 in Rochester, Kent when he was found using his mobile phone on August 11 last year.
The 27-year-old was found guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court last Monday where he was fined £173, ordered to pay £650 prosecution costs and a £69 surcharge to fund victims services.
His driving record was also endorsed with six points.
A DRUG driver caught behind the wheel in Corringham has been banned from the roads.
Dean Masters, 44, was driving a Fiat Doblo in The Manorway on January 10 when he was found with 7.7 micrograms of cannabis per litre of blood in his system. The legal limit is 2.
He was also found with a quantity of cannabis.
Masters, of Devonshire Road, Southminster, admitted the offences at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, August 3, where he was banned from driving for a year.
He must also pay a £120 fine, £83 prosecution costs and a £48 surcharge to fund victim services.
A SPEEDING driver caught more than 20 miles per hour above the speed limit has been banned from the roads – for a week.
Jordan Dorrell, of Mill Green Place, Pitsea, was driving a Toyota Corolla on the A10 in Enfield when he was found at 67mph. The limit is 40mph.
The 27-year-old admitted the offence at Stratford Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, when he was banned from driving for seven days.
He was also fined £461, ordered to pay a surcharge of £184 to fund victim services and £100 prosecution costs.
A WOMAN who failed to comply with a community order has been slapped with a fine.
Heidi Richardson, 39, did not comply with the order made by Basildon Magistrates’ Court after she failed to attend appointments on April 20 and May 7.
She also failed to give evidence to reasonably excuse these absences within the specified time limit, Thames Magistrates’ Court heard.
Richardson, of Manchester Road, Isle of Dogs, east London, admitted the breach last Thursday and was handed a £100 fine when she was sentenced for the offence.
A SPEEDING driver has been fined after he was caught seven miles per hour above the limit on a major road.
Ishmael Alpha, of Fane Road, Thundersley, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Vito on the A3220 to the A40 in Paddington when he was found to be travelling at 37mph on December 3. The limit is 30mph.
The offence was proved in his absence at Stratford Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.
The 57-year-old has now been ordered to pay a £100 fine, a £40 surcharge to fund victim services and prosecution costs of £90.
His driving record has also been endorsed with three penalty points.
A DRINK-DRIVER caught behind the wheel in Southend has been banned from the roads.
David Sellick was behind the wheel of a Ford Focus in York Road when he was found with 73 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on June 13. The limit is 35 mcg.
Sellick, of Woodgrange Drive, Southend, admitted the offence at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court, where he was banned from driving for a year and six months on Tuesday, August 6.
The 39-year-old must also pay a £120 fine, £85 prosecution costs and a £48 surcharge to fund victim services, the court ordered.
A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for more than a year after he was caught in Rayleigh.
Maciej Dusza, 39, was driving in Chelmsford Road, Rayleigh, when he was found with 79 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on January 18. The limit is 35 mcg.
Dusza, of Bebington Link, Langdon Hills, admitted the offence at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 6.
He has now been banned from driving for a year and six months and ordered to pay a £646 fine. He must also pay £85 costs and a £258 surcharge.
A MAN who failed to hand evidence to a police boss has been fined over £600.
Liam Greenough, 39, did not give information to the chief officer of police in Billericay relating to the identification of a Mercedes driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence on December 16, 2022.
The offence was proved in his absence at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 8.
Greenough, of Maynard Court, Waltham Abbey, has been ordered to pay a £660 fine, a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and £200 costs.
A MAN who failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis has been fined £1,000.
Barry Haines, of Ferrymead, Canvey, failed to provide the specimen in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence in Chelmsford on July 16.
The 42-year-old admitted the offence at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Friday, August 9 where he was fined and banned from driving for two years and five months.
He must also pay £85 prosecution costs and a £400 surcharge to fund victims services.
A MAN who failed to give information to police has been hit with a fine.
David Aderoju, of Melbourne Avenue, Chelmsford, failed to give information to the chief officer of Essex Police in Billericay relating to the identification of a Mercedes driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on July 14 last year.
The 36-year-old admitted the offence at Colchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 6 where he was fined £120, ordered to pay £90 prosecution costs and a £48 surcharge.
His driving record was also endorsed with six points.
