Two people were taken to hospital after a crash along a major road on the Essex border.
Emergency services rushed to the A127 last night (August 27) at around 7pm, after a crash involving two vehicles at the junction with Bryant Avenue.
A car was seen on its roof by the central reservation.
Four people were treated at the scene, and two of these were then taken to hospital.
Michael Deon Burton, a former Havering mayor who was passing-by, said the area was taped off and the road shut by emergency services from the Gallows Corner roundabout to the A127 junction with Squirrels Heath Road - causing "substantial" tailbacks.
The London Ambulance Service sent ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and members of London's Air Ambulance to the scene.
Two fire engines and a fire rescue unit from Romford, Harold Hill and East Ham fire stations were also sent to the A127 by the London Fire Brigade.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 6.57pm on Tuesday 27 August to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of A127 and Bryant Avenue.
"We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, members of our tactical response unit and London’s Air Ambulance.
"Our crews treated four patients at the scene, before taking two to hospital while the third declined treatment by road."
