A popular burger restaurant that has served residents in Leigh for more than a decade has closed its doors for good.

The team at Henry Burgers, in Leigh, have announced that they have ceased trading after failing to "find a way forward for the business".

The cherished establishment opened its doors in 2014 and brought North American and European cuisine to a speakeasy-style cocktail bar and restaurant.

The closure comes as the restaurant was listed for sale on Rightmove for £600,000 back in August 2023.

The site still remains up for sale, although the restaurant hasn't been operational for the last six weeks, according to its social media.

In a statement this afternoon, a spokesman for Henry Burgers thanked all their guests over the past decade.

They said: "Unfortunately, we have ceased trading. We tried to find a way forward for the business but it wasn’t possible.

"We would like to thank all our guests for coming through our doors over the last decade.

"But we would like to give an even bigger thank you to all the staff that have worked here over the years

"There is too many to mention but you guys all made it what it was, and it was a pleasure to be there beside you.

"I won’t miss the stress of running a business, but I will miss the banter, and the sound of the team laughing during and after a tough shift.

"Many great memories to cherish. So next time you raise a margarita, be sure to splash a drop on the floor for us.

"We are sure there is some life left in this iconic building and we look forward to seeing what it becomes in the future."
