Two have been charged in connection with theft after police seized a stolen motorbike in Southend.
Essex Police have confirmed they received a report shortly before 7.30pm on Wednesday (28 August) that a motorbike had been stolen from an address in Kursaal Way about 10 minutes earlier.
The bike was recovered and two men were arrested shortly after 7:45pm.
Mason Strutt, 19, of Great Knightleys, Basildon, and Jak Croucher, 24, of Norman Crescent, Brentwood, have been charged with the theft of a motor vehicle.
Croucher is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on September 12, while Strutt will appear at the same court on September 26.
Croucher was also charged with driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “Using a tracking system, officers were able to locate the bike at a McDonalds on the High Street.
“The bike was recovered and two men arrested shortly after 7.45pm.
“Two men have now been charged in connection with the theft.
“Mason Strutt, 19, of Great Knightleys, Basildon has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on 26 September.
“Jak Croucher, 24, of Norman Crescent, Brentwood, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.
“He is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on 12 September.”
