Oasis fans will be hoping to secure tickets to the band’s reunion tour this morning (August 31) but with demand so high, you might be wondering how to get yours.

A Taylor Swift fan who was able to get tickets for the Eras Tour has shared some tips for Oasis fans who will be feeling the pressure.

Jess Peace from Sheffield bought tickets to see Taylor Swift for £76.65 and was successful on her first attempt.

The 30-year-old spoke to NetVoucherCodes and shared a list of her top tips for fans who are trying to get Oasis tickets.

Jess said: “In my friendship group I’m everyone's go-to person for getting tickets to anything live and only paying face value.

“I’ve done it for a bunch of sold out shows like Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys and Stone Roses so I have some tried and tested tips that haven’t failed me yet.

“I went to the Eras Tour recently and managed to get tickets that cost only £76, some of the cheapest tickets you could get. My partner’s sister Amelia had sat and made friendship bracelets with her friend who was going with her family, thinking she had missed out.

“She really wanted to go and was looking on resale sites with prices starting from £600 and soaring to £1,200 for UK dates.

“I just had a feeling I’d get the tickets somehow and managed to give them to her as an early birthday present.”

A Swiftie’s tips for buying tickets ahead of Oasis general sale

Create accounts in advance

Jess said she had already signed up to Ticketmaster but made sure her account details were updated before the ticket sale.

She said: “This meant when the time came to buy tickets, I could go through the process quicker.”

Therefore, she advises that Oasis fans set up accounts in advance on all the platforms that are officially selling tickets for the UK Oasis shows which are Ticketmaster, GigsAndTours and See Tickets.

Save your payment details

Jess said: “If you have your details set up like delivery address, name and more, you should also make sure you have a payment method saved. On ticketing sites, go into your account settings and save your preferred payment method, whether it’s a credit card, PayPal, or another option.

“The most important part is to double-check that your payment information is current and that your card hasn’t expired or else you’ll spend precious minutes updating this information and possibly miss out on tickets.”

Use multiple devices

Jess believes one trick that got her cheap Taylor Swift tickets quickly was using multiple devices.

She added: “I'd get every device you can together, phone, laptop, tablet and make sure all of them are logged into the ticketing sites before the tickets drop. Set them out on a table in front of you so you can keep an eye between them when you try to catch tickets.

“This is crucial because different devices can connect to the ticketing servers at different speeds and if one lags or crashes you have another as backup.”

Look for multiple dates

Jess explained that Ticketmaster allows fans to use a traffic light system to easily check availability.

She said: “It’s likely that some dates are going to be in much more demand than others. For example, when I bought Taylor Swift tickets, even with an access code I was up against hundreds of thousands of people who were most keen for the Wembley show. On Ticketmaster, you can alter the view so that the ticket availability is traffic lighted.

“I’d recommend doing this so you don’t waste time trying to get tickets to shows which have fewer tickets available and more competition for dates.

“For Oasis, I imagine people will either go for the start date or last date of the concert in Manchester first as that’s their hometown and where they likely have the biggest fanbase.

“They’re all on weekend dates so competition will be high anyway, but there might be less competition going for those shows which are the first Saturday and the second Friday.”

Consider alternative sites

Jess says she can “almost guarantee that Ticketmaster will be absolutely rammed on Saturday as the preferred seller.”

She added: “We know from past experience as well that sometimes the site crashes when it has too much demand, scuppering your likelihood of securing tickets.

“I’d use one of the alternative sites like Gigs and Tours that less people are likely to use for a better chance of snagging tickets.”

Find a fast internet connection

Jess advises fans to avoid trying to buy tickets when they are out and about or connected to a dodgy hotspot because the connection might lag or drop.

She urges them to stay at home as this is where she knows her internet connection will be strong and uninterrupted.

Jess said sitting next to the router and closing any unnecessary applications or browser tabs that might slow down your connection could also help.

Join the queue early

Jess explains that one of the reasons she was able to get Taylor Swift tickets was because she joined the virtual waiting room early.

She said: “Most ticketing platforms will open a waiting room or queue a few minutes before the official sale time, so make sure you’re logged in and ready to join at least 10-15 minutes before it starts. This will also help you mitigate any wifi or loading issues beforehand.”

Don’t refresh the page

If your phone or laptop freezes, it can be tempting to hit the refresh button but Jess advises against this saying “this is one of the worst things you can do!”

She added: “If you refresh the page, you will likely lose your place in the queue and you’ll get pushed to the back, making your chances of securing tickets much less likely.

“Just wait patiently for the system to do its thing.”

Buy tickets with friends

Finally, Jess suggests working with family and friends who want to go to the concert too.

“You’re not all going to get tickets, so it’s best to work with family and friends to increase your chances of being able to buy them.

“Then, when one of you gets through the queue, they can buy multiple tickets. Covering multiple sites or ticket types at once, you increase your odds of success.”
