THE owners of a new rage room have been praised for doing their bit to keep the community tidy, collecting flytipping to be used as part of their new attraction.

Over the weekend frustrated residents took to Facebook after spotting a pile of TVs dumped on the side of the street in the Mucking Hall Road area of Rochford.

However, within hours waste management firm “The Boyz” turned up to collect the TVs and will now use them to kit out their new “Angry Smash” rage room ahead of its opening.

Angry Smash is set to open in Rochford in November and will give pent-up punters the chance to take out their frustrations and let off some steam.

Owner Jake Tripp, 35, has now issued a call to residents urging anyone who spots flytipping including “smashable” items to get in contact and they will clear it free of charge.

Jo Palmer, 62, lives close to the fly tipping site and has been troubled by the string of unwanted goods deposited in her area and praised “The Boyz” for helping out. She said the waste is “dumped so close to our wildlife reserve, where volunteers have spent their own time and money making it such a fantastic place”.

“It’s stopped the local dog walkers and horse riders” added Jo.

She also described how in recent weeks, residents have pulled over 50 dumped tyres from the ditch and collected large amounts of broken glass.

The Angry Smash “rage room” is set to open in early November and will allow guests to release stored up energy in a controlled environment filled with a range of breakable goods.

Visitors will have 20 minutes to destroy as much as they can.

The collection of the fly tipped TVs was a gesture of goodwill from “The Boyz”, but owner Jake has said that he is happy to help.

He added: “Going forward if there’s anything we could use in the rage room, give us a call. It will save the public money from getting it privately taken away.”

Jake invites members of the public to alert the company to the dumping of any goods that could realistically be used in his upcoming ‘rage room’, including “TVs, computer monitors, crockery, glassware and small electricals”.
