OVERNIGHT closures will be in place on parts of the A127 amid roadworks in south Essex this month.

The major road is closing from its junction with the slip road to Upper Mayne London-bound, the slip road to West Mayne westbound and to the Upper Mayne Link Road slip road from Upper Mayne to the A127, in Basildon on September 23.

High Road will also be shut off from its junction with the A127 to Willowfields.

These closures will be in place from 9pm until 5pm for five nights while vegetation clearance works are carried out by Triple H Utility Contractors.

An alternative route is available via High Road, Upper Mayne Roundabout, St Nicholas Lane, High Road, High Road Roundabout, West Mayne, Southend Arterial Road.


An A127 slip road from Fairglen interchange will also be closed Southend-bound from September 23.

These closures will be in place for five nights, from 9pm until 5am, while Essex County Council undertakes horticultural maintenance.

Drivers will be diverted via Fairglen Interchange, Southend Arterial Road, Nevendon Road Roundabout and Southend Arterial Road.


Horticultural maintenance works will also be carried out in Basildon on September 27.

The on-slip to Southend Road in Vange from the junction with Five Bells roundabout will be shut as well as Vange Bypass from a point where the on-slip joins to a point where Pitsea Bypass off-slip joins.

Pitsea Bypass off-slip to the junction with High Road in Vange and Five Bells on-slip from Pitsea Bypass to High Road will also both be closed.

These works will be underway from 9pm to 5am with an alternative route available via A13, A1245, A176 and vice versa.


St Michaels Road, in Hadleigh, is closing from both of its junctions with Bramble Road on September 25.

This is while Essex County Council carries out works from 7am until 5pm, with drivers diverted via Arterial Road, Rayleigh slip road from A127 To A129 westbound, Rayleigh Road, Daws Heath Road, Bramble Road and vice versa.


Watery Lane in Rawreth is also closing for five days from September 23 while carriageway patching is carried out.

The road will be shut from Hullbridge Road to Highlands Road, with a diversion route available via Beeches Road, Chelmsford Road, Rawreth Lane, and Hullbridge Road.


Tree cutting works are being carried out in Daws Heath Road, Hadleigh, on September 27.

This will force the road to be closed from its junction with Highlands Road to Bramble Road from 7am until 7pm.

An alternative route is available via Daws Heath Road, Bramble Road, and Rayleigh Road.
