Drivers leaving businesses on a major road near Southend Airport will be escorted for two nights during roadworks this month.

Cherry Orchard Way will be closed between the Airport Business Park roundabout and the Eastwoodbury Lane roundabout between 8pm and 5am on September 23 and 24.

This is while surfacing improvements take place on the KFC roundabout.

Letters have been sent out to residents and businesses explaining an escort vehicle will assist drivers leaving businesses at the roundabout.

One.network warns delays are "likely" while the closures are in place.

However, no access will be allowed after 8pm for safety reasons with the exception for emergency services.

Pedestrian access will remain open throughout these works.

Drivers are urged to check advance warning signs for the latest information and observe closures in place. For the latest information about these works, visit one.network.
