POLICE are appealing for the public's help to locate a man as part of an attempted murder probe after a young woman was stabbed multiple times.

Officers are continuing enquiries as part of the ongoing investigation after they were called on April 29 to St Marys Court on Victoria Avenue in Southend following the serious assault.

The 19-year-old victim was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and she has thankfully since been discharged.

Detectives in Essex Police's serious crime directorate have issued an appeal for help to locate 27-year-old Kallen Maxwell, who they want to speak with in connection with this investigation.

Maxwell is described as a white man, around 6ft tall and of a medium build. He has green eyes and mousey coloured hair.

He is also believed to have a three inch scar on the back of his right arm.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector James Holmes said: “Our officers have carried out multiple enquiries to locate Maxwell and now appealing for the public’s support.

“Maxwell has connections across Essex including Brentwood, Southend and Wickford as well as Lincolnshire, Romford and Greater Manchester.

“This was a serious assault and the young victim is lucky to be alive. We are asking anyone who has information on Maxwell’s whereabouts to contact us.

“A major incident public portal has been created as a way to submit information and Crimestoppers can also be anonymously contacted.”
