A yellow weather warning has been issued across Southend, Basildon and all of Essex.
The Met Office has issued a warning for heavy and possibly thundery rain that may cause flooding and disruption over all of Essex and must of the south of England.
This warning is in place from Saturday at 9pm to Sunday 6pm.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Heavy rain and thunderstorms could lead to some disruption Saturday night and through Sunday."
There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses as well as a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage.
