Police rushed to attend a crash that left one car flipped on its side in Essex Way.
Essex Way was closed from 7.45 am to 9.10am according to witnesses, after a single car flipped on its side on the busy road in South Benfleet.
Traffic was diverted down Vicarage Hill as police closed off a section of the road around the crash, causing delays that have now been cleared.
Police have been contacted for comment.
