A person has died and another is in hospital after a crash on the M25 near Upminster and the Dartford Crossing. 

Emergency services were called to the crash on the M25 near junction J29 this morning (September 8) at around 3:59am.

According to a tweet from National Highways, the crash involved and a lorry and a car.

An incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and an ambulance crew were among the resources sent to the scene.

One person died at the scene, and another has been taken to hospital - their condition is not known.

Two further people were treated and discharged at the scene.

All four lanes of the M25 clockwise are currently closed this morning whilst investigations are underway by emergency services.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 3.59am this morning (8 September) to reports of a road traffic collision on the M25 at J29 near Upminster.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.

“Sadly one patient died at the scene.

A second patient was taken to hospital while two further patients were treated and discharged at the scene."
