Southend's iconic Cliff Lift is in urgent need of new volunteers to ensure it continues running seven days a week.
Six years ago, four volunteers answered a call for help and, since then, several others have joined their ranks.
However, due to holidays and illness, there are currently not enough volunteers to maintain daily operations.
Volunteers at the Southend Cliff Lift are appealing to anyone with spare time and enthusiasm to come forward.
Interested individuals can visit the Cliff Lift between 10:30am and 3pm, where current volunteers will explain the roles and responsibilities.
The commitment is flexible, whether it is one day a month or three days a week.
More volunteers would help ensure this treasured piece of history continues to operate smoothly.
