Armed police have been spotted responding to an incident at a major junction in Benfleet.
Pictures from the scene show officers armed with guns surrounding a person on the floor in High Road, Benfleet, near the Tarpots junction.
A number of police cars can be seen on the scene alongside several armed officers at around 5:30pm yesterday evening.
At this stage, it is unclear what incident the officers are responding to.
However, Essex Police has been contacted for comment by The Echo.
