ROAD closures in place during the Cliffs Pavilion refurbishment works are coming into force this week.

Cliffs Pavilion Service Road and San Remo Parade were closed on Wednesday while Southend Council is carrying out a multi-million pound refurbishment project to rejuvenate the Westcliff theatre. 

The service road will be closed on both sides until the works are due to be completed on March 31.

San Remo Parade is shut on the Cliffs Pavilion side only until December 31.


A residential street in Leigh is also closing next week while Anglian Water works are carried out.

Manchester Drive will be shut between Cheltenham Drive and Scarborough Drive from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Wednesday while a frame and cover is replaced.

Drivers will also be unable to enter and exit Olivia Drive at its junction with Manchester Drive.


A key road in Pitsea is set to shut for two weekends for traffic flow installation works.

Pitsea Hall Lane will be closing from Brackendale Avenue to Station Approach from 9pm on October 5 until 5am on October 7 and at the same times from October 12 until October 14.

Motorists are warned no alternative route will be available.


Another road in Pitsea will be closing for eight days in October.

Cadogan Terrace is set to shut from Kenneth Road on October 1 while carriageway reconstruction works are carried out by Indecon Building. 

No diversion route will be in place for this closure.


A road off Rayleigh High Street is set to close next week.

Castle Road will be shut from its junction with the High Street for five days from Monday.

This is while new connection works are carried out by Essex And Suffolk Water.

Drivers will be diverted via Castle Road, Daws Heath Road, Eastwood Road, High Street, Castle Road and vice versa.


Another major road in the Basildon borough is scheduled to be shut.

Dunton Road will be closed from Brentwood Road on Monday while "trial holes investigation" works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

This closure will be in place for five days.
