A knife attack suspect was arrested in Benfleet after armed police were spotted at a major south Essex junction.
Yesterday afternoon, armed police were spotted responding to an incident.
Pictures from the scene show officers armed with guns surrounding a person on the floor in High Road, Benfleet, near the Tarpots junction.
A number of police cars were pictured on the scene alongside several armed officers at around 5:30pm yesterday evening.
Essex Police has since confirmed the officers were arresting a suspect in response to an incident in Basildon.
Yesterday, two men were arrested after reports of a fight taking place between three people in Woolmer Green, one of whom was described as armed.
Officers arrived at the scene alongside emergency services colleagues and found a man who had been seriously assaulted.
The man had sustained a stab wound and was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Shortly before 5.30pm, two men were arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.
