SIX crews attend scrap metal fire at the Port of Tilbury as firefighters spend over two hours putting out the blaze.
Firefighters were called to the fire at a scrap metal yard in the Port of Tilbury at 6.42pm.
The fire was eventually put out by 9pm.
The crews worked to use an aerial ladder platform to extinguish a fire affecting approximately 100m by 30m of scrap metal.
Firefighters worked alongside site staff to break up the material using diggers to extinguish the fire in sections.
Crews from Orsett, Basildon, Grays, Billericay, Corringham all attended.
An investigation will be carried out tomorrow to determine the cause of the fire.
