A teenage boy was rushed to hospital with a head injury after being hit by a car on a busy Wickford road yesterday, the ambulance service has confirmed.
Ambulance crews were called to Nevendon Road, Wickford yesterday around 6.13pm after a boy was hit by a car.
The teenage boy was taken to Basildon hospital for treatment of a head injury and further assessment.
A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 6.13pm on Thursday September 12 with reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car on Nevendon Road in Wickford.
"An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene. The pedestrian, a teenage boy, was transported to Basildon Hospital for further assessment and treatment of a head injury.”
Police confirmed the driver stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called to a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Nevendon Road, Nevendon, shortly before 6.30pm on Thursday 12 September.
“We attended alongside colleagues with East of England Ambulance Service.
“The pedestrian, a teenage boy, was taken on to hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing.”
