The Mews
Starting off this list is The Mews in Southend, which has earned a reputation for quality service and its Sunday roast with all the trimmings.
Out of its 606 reviews, the Nelson Mews venue's 413 were rated as 'Excellent' on its TripAdvisor page.
One reviewer wrote: "Delicious roasts both nut roast and duck roast made by foxy and the team, super tasty and definitely filling, we have yet to find a better Sunday roast! Service is also great and very accommodating! Highly recommend!"
The Boatyard Restaurant
This popular restaurant in Old Leigh High Street is well-known in the area, which is reflected in its 1,871 Tripadvisor reviews.
With 633 'Excellent' reviews, many praise the restaurant's Sunday roasts.
One reviewer said: "First time we have visited for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Beautifully presented meal, lots of meat, fluffy roasts and lovey fresh veg and all served very hot.
"The best roast I have ever eaten out. Service from Jasmine was great, she was very attentive and helpful, a lovey lunch enjoyed by us all and we will certainly return."
The Exchange Bar and Kitchen
Next stop is this Southchurch Road venue which has received rave reviews for its great atmosphere...and its Sunday roasts.
The restaurant has a 4.5 rating on its TripAdvisor page, with one reviewer writing: "We Sunday lunch here quite regularly, which just goes to show how great it is. Fabulous food, amazing staff that always make us feel so very welcome."
The Bellhouse
Last but certainly not least, this Leigh pub has plenty of five star reviews (and a 4.5 rating on Tripadvisor) for its flavoursome Sunday roasts.
A visitor wrote about the Rayleigh Road venue: "The food quality is amazing, don't think you would get a better Sunday Roast anywhere."
They added: "Atmosphere was great, staff wonderful, special mention to Brooke who looked after us. All in all very happy customers who will be returning very soon."
