POLICE are tonight at the scene of a “very serious” crash at Sadlers Farm roundabout in Bowers Gifford.
At just after 9.15pm this evening, Essex Police were alerted to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car.
Police say number of roads, including parts of the A130 and A13, are affected and there are road closures in place while emergency services remain on scene.
Some traffic is being diverted to join the A127 at Rayleigh Weir and there is a closure in the Canvey Way sliproad to the A13.
Tory Essex county councillor Andrew Sheldon said: “There has been a very serious accident on Sadlers Farm at the entrance to Canvey Way.
“It looks as though several vehicles are involved and there are multiple ambulances at the scene.
“Everyone involved will be in our thoughts and prayers tonight, as will their families and the members of the emergency services who are doing a brilliant job at the scene.”
A police spokesman said: “Please avoid the area if you can and we will update you as soon as practically possible.
“Thank you for your patience.”
Mr Sheldon added: “Please avoid the area if possible. The police have blocked off the scene of the incident and eastbound and northbound traffic is being diverted along Canvey Way and back up onto the A13 via the Canvey Way slip road. The less diverted traffic they have to deal with the better.”
