Pictures show a burnt-out van on a major south Essex road after it caught alight overnight.

A video circulating on social media shows a vehicle engulfed in flames on the side of the A127, near the M25 turn off.

According to reports, the van was completely alight in the early hours of this morning, as motorists drove past huge flames.

Pictures this morning now show a burnt-out shell of a van on the side of A127.

At this stage, it is unclear how the fire started, and if there were any injuries.

However, Essex Fire has been contacted for comment by The Echo.
