Murder mystery nights have slowly gathered popularity in Essex in recent years, with the nights often featuring a fun mix of dining and live entertainment, much like an interactive and involved version of Cluedo.

Murder mystery at the Muthu Westcliff Hotel

Tickets go from £59.97 for the dinner event only and £129.97 for a one night stay experience.
The Good, the Bad and the Guilty at Royal Hotel Southend
The Royal Hotel in Southend is hosting a cowboy themed murder mystery event throughout October with a two-course meal and interactive show.
A spokesman said: " The evening will
put your listening skills to the test, not to mention your aptitude for detective work.
"It will take all your mental agility to solve this case, even to get the suspects talking.
"You will be given the opportunity to question each of our four miscreants in order to deduce who killed Mayor Richard Headley."
The menu is suitably cowboy themed and includes BBQ beans and sausage, Texan beef burgers and mac and cheese.
