The boy who has been named as 13-year-old Taylen, was involved in an incident on Mersea Road, outside the Cherry Tree pub, at around 9.20pm on Saturday.

A GoFundMe account has now been set up for him and has already raised thousands of pounds for the family of Taylen.

The page says: "Any support is greatly appreciated to help the family at this awful time with anything they need.

"We are all absolutely devastated and hope the community can pull together to help this poor family who have previously helped so many others."
