FULL details have been revealed as radio celebrities and live music will fill the legendary Waverley for a special cruise setting sail from Southend Pier.
Waverley Excursions is hosting an "extraordinary" paddle steamer cruise around the historic Thames Forts which once protected London from air attacks during the Second World War.
The "Swinging Sixties Pirate Radio" cruise will feature live entertainment from Adam Knight's 1960's Roadshow, bringing the full experience from the era with authentic makeup and costumes of the then-pop icons.
A Waverley Excursions spokesman said: "Enjoy insightful commentary from a Maunsell Sea Fort Historian and meet radio celebrities from various stations including Radio Caroline, Radio Jupiter and Radio Seagull aboard for this special sailing – the biggest guest list of pirate radio DJs ever seen aboard Waverley!
"Mingle with the legends, enjoy live interviews, and be entertained by their stories."
The trip will be taking passengers from Southend at 2pm, after setting sail from Gravesend at 12.15pm on Sunday, October 6. Seniors can bring a friend for half the fare from Gravesend.
"This promises to be the ultimate pirate radio celebration aboard Waverley," they added.
