Commuters on the c2c line are facing delays and disruptions this morning after a freight train broke down.

The disruption has led to cancellations, diversions, and alterations to services across the south Essex line.

One of the affected trains was the 08:18 service from Pitsea to London Fenchurch Street, which has been diverted between Grays and Barking.

As a result, the train no longer stopped at Purfleet, Rainham, and Dagenham Dock.

c2c has advised passengers to check live updates on service status to see if their journey will be affected this morning.

The rail operator has apologised for the disruption, stating, "We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to your journey."
