A water firm has issued an update after a burst water main forced a week-long road closure in Thorpe Bay.
Last Wednesday, three schools were forced to temporarily close due to a burst water main on Thorpe Hall Avenue, Thorpe Bay.
Water supplies were restored by Essex and Suffolk Water within hours, but the road needed to be closed for repairs to be carried out.
Thorpe Hall Avenue has remained closed since September 25, and Essex and Suffolk Water has now provided an update on the closure.
The firm has confirmed that it will be fully reopened as of tomorrow morning.
A spokesperson for Essex and Suffolk Water said: “Last Wednesday, our teams attended a burst water main on Thorpe Hall Avenue, Thorpe Bay.
“They quickly managed to restore water supplies to residents, and worked hard to clear the road of surface water and debris.
"The road was closed in order to allow the teams to carry out a repair safely, and to allow it to be fully reinstated.
"This work is being completed today, and the road will be fully re-opened as of tomorrow morning.
"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience and would like to thank residents for their patience."
