At 16 years old, Marion the Chihuahua may be the oldest resident at Dogs Trust Basildon, but she still would love nothing more than a home filled with love and comfort.
This tiny, sweet-natured Chihuahua is full of personality and still has plenty of love to give.
Despite her years, Marion is an active little pup at heart. She adores short walks in the sunshine, playtime with her beloved fluffy toys, and especially indulging her inner “foodie” with delicious treats.
While she may be considered a senior, Marion still dreams of finding her forever home.
With Grandparents Day approaching this Sunday, the Dogs Trust team is hoping someone will offer this wise old girl, a cozy place to enjoy her golden years.
Marion, with her gentle spirit and warm eyes, would love nothing more than a retirement home filled with love and comfort.
Lisa Cooper, manager at Dogs Trust Basildon, said: “Don’t be fooled by her age, Marion is still a puppy at heart and wants nothing more than to go for walks and have a cosy curl-up in a loving home. Like so many of our older dogs, Marion has so much more to give.
“So many of our older dogs get overlooked by potential adopters – but this isn’t just about an old dog learning new tricks, older dogs can be the perfect companion for all types of lifestyles.’ “Our older dogs are often calmer, have a higher chance of being house-trained and while they may have a well-established temperament, they can still surprise you in the best ways!”
Every year, Dogs Trust rehomes thousands of dogs across the country, but often the older dogs who are searching for a home are overlooked in favour of younger counterparts. On average, dogs spend just under 50 days in the care of Dogs Trust while they wait for their forever home. Sadly, older dogs like Marion can often take much longer to rehome. This Grandparents Day, Dogs Trust Basildon is looking to show that older pooches are still a wonderful catch, that can be the star of the show!
