A MAJOR south Essex road has been closed for emergency repairs after a water leak - with the closure expected to last several hours.
Rayleigh Road, part of the A129 which connects the towns of Wickford, Billericay and Brentwood, has been closed off in Hutton at its junction with Hutton Village.

This is after a water leak, with the road likely to be closed until Friday evening at the earliest, according to Essex County Council's traffic control.
The closure is scheduled until October 11, one.network shows.
