A TEENAGE girl has been rushed to hospital after a crash on the A127 during rush hour this morning.

Emergency services were called to the A127 near the Daws Heath Road junction in Rayleigh this morning after reports of a crash.

One ambulance was sent to the scene and a teenage girl was taken to Southend Hospital for further assessment and care, the ambulance service has confirmed.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance was sent to Heath Road (A127) Rayleigh this morning following reports of a road traffic collision.

"One teenage girl was transported to Southend University Hospital for further assessment and care."

One car was visibly damaged at the scene following the crash, which saw traffic build up between Rayleigh Road and Progress Road back to the Fairglen Interchange. 

The scene has since cleared.
