ANOTHER cruise from Southend Pier has been cancelled as repairs are underway on the Waverley.
This evening's [October 7] cruise from Whitstable, Southend and Gravesend has been cancelled after a fault was found on one of the world's last sea-going paddle steamer's paddle wheels.
A message on the website says: "Waverley has terminated her cruise today at Whitstable due a fault with one of her paddle wheels. The evening cruise from Whitstable, Southend and Gravesend has therefore had to be cancelled.
"We are deeply sorry for this late cancellation and the disappointment and inconvenience this will cause.
"Pre-booked passengers will be contacted."
This comes after what was set to be the Waverley's first cruises of the year from Southend Pier were cancelled last month after a mechanical defect was found on one of the paddles.
It is not known at this stage whether any more cruises will be cancelled due to this fault being found. A repair is underway.
