UP to six weeks of drainage works are due to start at Southend Airport next week.
Mike Steptoe, Conservative Rochford councillor for Roche South and Essex County Council for Rochford, has shared details to residents of the maintenance works at Southend Airport over the coming weeks.
According to the post, some drainage works are planned to ensure drainage around the airfield is free of debris and working effectively, with workers expected to be on site for jet washing before cameras are deployed to check the drains are clear.
Work is due to start on Monday and is expected to take place during the daytime and some nights for around four to six weeks, with contractors on site for 14 night shifts.
For areas close to the runway, works must be carried out during the night when the runway is closed.
Bosses do not expect much noise from the work as contractors have been asked to keep noise to a minimum.
However, anyone who is disturbed can register their complaint by emailing LSA.NoiseManager@londonsouthendairport.com or via the airport's online WebTrak service
