Havens hospices has opened sign-ups for the Southend Half Marathon 2025.

With just eight months to go, the south Essex charity is encouraging runners of all abilities to secure their place early, after last year’s event was a sell-out.

The half marathon, a key fundraising event for Havens Hospices, offers participants a chance to support families in need of hospice care.

Funds raised help the charity provide vital services, and help create cherished memories for patients and their loved ones.

Whether you are a seasoned runner or taking on the challenge in memory of someone special, the Southend Half Marathon promises a rewarding experience.

The event takes place on June 8, 2025, from 9am, starting at East Beach, in Shoebury.

It costs £34 for affiliated runners, and £36 for non-affiliated runners, and wheelchair athletes.

A spokesman for Havens hospices added: "By Lacing-up your running shoes and taking on this truly special challenge you run will be helping us give the gift of time to families.

"Last year was a sell out so sign up early to ensure you have guaranteed your entry for 2025.
