IMAGES show numerous armed police officers before the moment they arrested two people after a firearm was seen in a vehicle.

Essex Police attended Bournemouth Park Road at 4.30pm yesterday, October 12, in response to an incident in Shoebury, on Friday

During the Shoebury incident, it was reported that two people were in a vehicle, one of whom was seen with a firearm.

Officers attended the incident, but no arrests were made.

The force cordoned-off Bournemouth Park Road by closing the road near South Avenue and Central Avenue.

The images show more than three police cars in the road as armed officers in full tactical gear stand waiting in the middle of the road.

According to Essex Police Chief Superintendent Stuart Hooper, the force believes there was “no threat to anyone in the area”.

A man and a woman were both arrested and remain in custody for questioning.
