AIR ambulance helicopters and other emergency service vehicles have rushed to the Shoebury seafront this morning due to an incident.
The East of England Ambulance Service has rushed to Common Road, Shoebury, before 9.30am this morning, following reports of two people “in distress in the water”.
Three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic car, three hazardous area response team vehicles, and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance helicopters were called to the incident.
The Coastguard, and “fire and rescue colleagues” assisted in getting the people ashore.
Update:
The East of England Ambulance service has confirmed that one of the patients was in a "serious condition" when transported to the hospital.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Two patients were transported.
"One man in a serious condition was transported by air ambulance to St George's Hospital London.
"A second man was transported by road ambulance to Southend Hospital.
